Payments, Payouts, Refunds, and Chargeback Rules

Clear rules for booking apartments and rent-a-car: when payouts are released, how refunds are processed, and what happens during chargeback disputes.

Booking (apartments) payout policy

  • Apartment (LOW): payout = check-in + 2 days.
  • Apartment (MEDIUM): payout = check-out + 3 days.
  • Apartment (HIGH): payout = check-out + 7 days.
  • HIGH risk applies for new owners, foreign cards, or elevated risk profile.

Rent-a-car payout policy

  • Rent-a-car (LOW): payout = rental end + 7 days.
  • Rent-a-car (MEDIUM): payout = rental end + 14 days.
  • Rent-a-car (HIGH): payout = rental end + 21 days.
  • Delayed payout protects both guests and owners from late refunds and chargeback disputes.

How refunds are handled

  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
  • If owner payout was already released, the related amount may be recovered via Stripe transfer reversal.
  • Refund impact can be deducted from the next payout if current available balance is insufficient.

How chargebacks/disputes are handled

  • On chargeback/dispute, payout is held or reversed if already released.
  • Rolling reserve is used first, then any remainder becomes debt deducted from future payouts.
  • When a dispute is won or funds are reinstated, payout can be re-released.
